Work is a way of participating in and continuing God´s act of creation. The economy must serve people, not the other way around. My name is Terry Sudi. I am thriteen years old (but clocking 14 in Sept) in class eight.

In our school, we have lessons. They are: Maths, English, Kiswahili, Science, Social Studies, P.P.I, and C.R.E. They begin at 6:20 am up to late in the evening at 6:00 p.m.

Here in Kenya (especially Bungoma), we don't experience seasons as you do. Our weather conditions are cool, wet, dry or hot. We normally have rainy and dry days. Anyway, here in Bungoma we usually have high rainfall between February and June. The other months vary.

In Africa, we have different places of attraction. I am not normally journey-sick so I don't travel regularly. As we are held up with studies this year (we are candidates) we are not given a lot of holidays. So I guess my answer has to be \'no\' I rarely see many wild animals.

In terms of favourite books. I like big volume books. My most favourite book is \'Harry Poter\' by J.K. Rowling. If you have come across it, hope we sail in the same boat. The book is very thrilling, adventurous and captive. It makes you forget that you were angry, sad, depressed, etc. That\'s why I like it.

I like footbal (my favourite), volleyball, badmitton and a game locally known as \'kati\'. This is a game where two people stand on either sides to catch the ball. One, two or more peole stand between them and the game starts. You simply try to avoid being hit by a small round ball by ducking arobatically. It\'s fun!

When I grow up, I wish to be an engineer. It is a decision that I have to work hard to achieve. In our leighman sayings, we simply state it as, \"Strive hard to achieve your goasl\"

Our family consists of nine members. My mother, father, two brothers, two sisters and three cousins. My mother is called Esther Wambulwa and is a teacher. My father: George Sudi, is an agricultural officer. Annette, Steve and Antonette have completed their secondary education. Brian is in secondary whereas the remaining are in primary including me.

I can't really say I don\'t have/face difficulties at home. It is really exciting to go back home after a long tiresome day at school. Even though sometimes parents exaggerate. Anyway I like it since it\'s known that \"East to West home is best\".

In simple terms, I can say that my home is thrilling, exciting and enjoyable. Our house is permanent (although a little wornout!), it is surrounded by a hedge. A borehole is about one metre from the house corner. There is a resting bench nearby the farms. My favourite food is rice mixed with meat stew and salad. After meals, I enjoy eating my pudding before going to read and finally retiring to bed.

My friends and I usually come together when free. We joke, make fun and laugh togehter. Sometimes, we get carried away and start discussing about what each one of us wants to be in the future. His father was in another kingdom as a king. On his journey to his father\'s kingdom he met many giants and he would kill all of them. Because of his courage he finally found his father.

I like playing hid and seek. It involves many people where one of them closes her eyes for the rest to hide. After everyone has hidden, the person who had closed his or her eyes will go looking for the ones who had hidden. The first person to be seen will be the next to close his or her eyes. I think this game is also played there.

When I grow I would like to lecture in the university. In our compound there are six rental houses. We therefore stay in one of the houses. My favourite food is ugali and pumpkin leaves. I hope that when you tast this food you will like it. Ugali is prepared using maize flour.

Morever, In Kenya there are no seasons like Summer, Autumn, Winter, and Spring. Instead in the morning it\'s always quite chilly and in the evening it\'s rather hot. In Kenya we have many wild animals including Elephants, Lions, Ceetahs, Rhions and Leopards which are also referred as the big five.

Others are Zebras, antelopes, buffaloes and also sea animals like crocodiles, fish, dolphin, sharks, tilapia, tuna and dagaa.

My favourite book is \'NJAGA THE TOWN MONKEY\'. It talks about the Adventures of the monkey known as NJAGA. Also I like the book known as \'FIVE ADVENTURES \' by ENID BLYTON. It is thrilling, exciting and captive. It talks about five teenagers who like adventure. The games played in Kenya are volleyball, badminton, basketball, netball and football. But the most common ones are volleyball and football. Volleyball is played by passing the ball over a net with each teams side having six players excluding the referee.

However in future I would prefer being a lecture as well as a musician. Our home is situated in the outskirts of the town. Around it are beautiful flowers like roses, Daisy, Sunflower and the morning glory. There is also a garden planted on beans, maize, bananas and groundnuts. There is also a playing field.

My favourite foods are fish made with coconut, vegetables, fried meat and chicken. However I can eat any food provided that its the only option. However many people in Kenya prefer traditional foods the same as I do.

When I am with my friends whose names are Zippi Wanjiru, Rehma Dyombe and Fridah. We like visiting places of adventure like the nearest museums to see wild animals. Sometimes we can visit the town library to read storybooks or we can sit down and sing or compose songs.

Those are mostly known but still we have others.

During holydays such as Sundays, I always read storybooks in plenty. Almost all my story books are educative and more so intersting. My favourite storybook is Abunwasi because it both have joes and advice. After reading this storybooks my friends and I always play football until late in the evening.

I also like watching Basketball during leaisure time. I always pay much attension to this because I want to be a footballer when I grow up. A part from playing I also like eating ugali and meat stew. This is a delicious meal liked almost by all Kenyans. Truly it is the best meal.

My home is in Marell one of the major streets in Bungoma. It is just located beside the road. The house itself is big enough for our family of 6 members. We normally have dancing competition and rewards are given to the winners. We mostly have this competition monthly. Our school days run from Monday to Saturday. We only rest on Sunday. Our Academic year runs from January to December. My daily lessons are English, Swahili, Math, Social Studies, Christian Religious Education (CRE) and Science. We always learn different subjects in one room. I like Social studies.

One of my hobbies is to view the beautiful Kenya. Kenya is very rich in wildlife. Sometimes during the holidays my parents and I visit various national parks. By now I have seen many wild animals. These are Elephants, Lions, Cheetah, Buffalloes, Zebras, Impalas, Deer, Giraffes, Wild beasts, Crocodiles, Snakes, Flamingoes, etc

The favourite book I have read is called Ivory Poachers. This book is extremely good and encouraged me to work hard to achieve my goals. This book is about a young girl by the name of Japala. She grew up and loved the animals especially the elephants that much. Due to her love for animals she decided to be one of the wardens. After her education she joined the job. But the main problem that the elephants face was poaching. Poachers used to kill hundreds of elephants, take their tusks and sell them far away. Miss Japala was not happy about it. She worked tooth and nail and finally succeeded in the arrest of poachers.

It is weird for me to talk about sports. Actually I partially love horse racing and basketball.

In my lifetime I want to become either a successful Judge, musician or actress. I am very hopeful for either of the three to be my occupation in future.

Our climate here in Kenya varies. But mostly we experience rain. Right now it is rainy. The weather is so cold that many people are suffering from a cold. During the December holidays the sun brightly shines and there\'s some cool breeze.

At our home, there is lots of fun. We are always jovial when we are together and have a family time. Each one of us improves her talent by encouraging each other to watch over her personality. As to me I am very talented in singing. I am also a God-fearing girl. Not only am I good in singing but also actining. I am very funny but serious when it come to serious matters. I always love assertive people.

My favourite food is spaghetti with liver. It is very delicious. I also like rice with eggs. During breakfast I prefer black coffee to cocoa. I accompany it with either cornflakes, hotdog, eggs or bread sandwich.

When my friends and I get together, we always chat, sing, tour different places, sing or watch movies. I have good friends whom I have trusted since childhood. They are Rhema Oyombe, Jaquiline, Karimi, Wambui and Waithaka. Rhema is my classmate.

Sincerely I love them. They are cute, smart and beautiful. We have a lot in common to share. The awkward one is when I had to live the other four as we travelled to Bungoma, but still in contact with each other.

I enjoy listening to music especially hip-hop music. I mostly hear Swahili songs. In hip-hop music I like R\'n\'B\'s and Bluez. I also take part at the church choir. My favourite coulors are pink, red, black and light green.

The weather in Bungoma is moderately hot. It seldom falls below 7 degrees C and goes above 33 degrees C. The long rains usually come in March and end in July. Well there are many wild animals but most of them are found in the game parks which are far from Bungoma so we never go on Safaries like our counterparts near the parks. To be frank I've only seen wild animals in documentaries!

I mostly enjoy large volumes of books which come in series such as the \'Famous Five\' and \'Secret Seven\'. Most of all I like the \'Harry Potter\' series authoured by J.K. Rowling. It\'s all about Harry Potter\'s destiny as a young wizard fighting Lord Voldoment, the dark lord who is the most powerful wizard alive. Unfortunately, I have been abe to read only three series out of the seven, but Ihope to find the rest in High School.

Although I like football I enjoy basketball more than all the other games. We usually try to make baskets by passing the ball through the ring. I think the game is popular in America. I also admire Chicago Bulls basketball team a lot.

The boy grew into a hunchback. He lived in the bell tower of Notre Dame. If you have come across this book, then you can agree with me that it is very interesting.I like skipping ropes. It is where two people rotate a rope while one is skipping in the middle jumping up and down. I think you also play this game because it is known worldwide.

When I grow up I would like to be a Neuro suregon. I want to work in a big hospital with a lot of patients to treat and take good care of. I also want to work in a peaceful environment.

At home, we have a very big house, surrounded by small farms in which we have planted corn. We have also domesticated a cat, chicken and cows. Around our compound we have planted different types of fruits like mangoes, oranges, avocados, raspberries, pomegranates, guavas, bananas and pawpaws.

My favourite food is cooked smashed bananas with stew. This is where bananas are peeled off. washed and the boild. When ready, they are smashed using a cooking stick. The stew can be either fish, beef, pork or chicken.

Hello, my name is Elizabeth Sutoh. I am a girl aged thirteen years but clocking fourteen on the 31st of December. I am in starndard eight (same a eighth grade) at Christ the King Academy. In our school, we mostly study languages (English and Kiswahili), Mathematics, science, P.P.I, Social Studies and Christian Religious Education (C.R.E). Our lessons starts at 6:30 am in the morning and ends at 6:10 pm in the evening.

Here in Bungoma, we don't experience seasons such as Winter, Summer, Spring and Autumn unlike other areas. The rainfall rate is always moderate thus making the weather cool. We mostly pland crops like maize in my area between the months of March and May. In Kenya, there are many wild animals like Lion, Rhino, Leopard, Gazelle, Elephant, Buffaloes just but to name a few. I enjoy watching these animals in the game parks such as Malka Mari, Tsavo, Sibiloi, Maasai Mara and Amboseli.

I enjoy reading story books (especially those that talk about animals) I like reading them because while reading, I am always carried away by the funy stories of the animals. When you read them, you can not imagine the animals speaking in the past to eah other.

I play most games like hide and seek, football, rope and volley ball but my favourite is volleyball. It is a game of two teams of six players hit a ball over a high net with their hands while trying not to let the ball fall on the ground on their own side. I like it because when played it makes the bones flexible.

When I grow up, I would like to be an engineer. To achieve my goal, I am working tirelessly day and night. I like this career because it enables one to fly abroad and explore different areas. Our home is situated on the outskirts of Bungoma town. There are rental houses beside our house. The compound is fenced with barbed wire. I have three brothers and four sisters but I am the youngest among them.

My favourite food is spaghetti. I also enjoy eating watermelon, coconut, cucumber and carrots. I like dogs ecause they keep our homes safe and scare away enemies. When I am with my allies, we like exchanging ideas and watching movies. My favourite colours are pink, light green, red and purple. My hobbies are singing, reading story books and making new friends from all over the world. Write to me soon. Pass my warmest regards to friends and family members.

I am glad to tell that in our school we have lessons. These are English Kiswahili, Mathematics, Social Studies and Christian Education (C.R.E). In our schools lessons start at 6:45 am and end at 6:10 pm in the evening.

Here at my place we enjoy hot and wet condition. It sometimes varies with the monts of the year. We always have heavy rains during April and May. In December, January, February and early March the weather is always hot and dry. The other months vary.

Her in Africa, especially in my country, Kenya, there are several game parks like Kakamega National Park which is situated near my place. It contains many wild animals like elephants, rhinos, monkeys, giraffes and many others.

My favourite book is \"The Bible Heros\" I like this book because it shows how Christ suffered for our sins to be forgiven. It consists of the great people of the Bible like David and Goliath. It also consists of the suffering, death and the resurrection of Jesus.

I am glad to inform you that I like and enjoy playing Vollyball. It consists of six players in each team. The ball is hit high and over the net in front and backwards. I am sure even you at your place you participate in this game.

I am working very hard to succeed in life since when I grow up I want to be a famous Doctor in the world. Our house is made out of bricks. We also have chicken which have been built their own house in between the compound. My favourite food is Ugali and fried meet. I eat this and that is why I am growing healthy.
